KENT FALCONS, the University of Kent's American Football team competing in the BUCS South East Division 1, approached me to redefine their social media presence and stand out among the upper echelon of top university American football teams.





Challenges
Despite having a visually appealing Instagram page, the brand struggled to maintain a consistent social media presence and engage effectively with its audience. They also had low engagement rates and inconsistent interaction with their active audience. Their main recruiting tool was the Instagram page and with limited brand awareness and visibility, attempting for a large recruitment push was an uphill battle.
Solution
To address these challenges, I implemented a comprehensive social media management strategy focusing on three key areas:
Content Creation:
Developed a consistent content calendar featuring pre-game lineup posts, coach and photographer dual-posting of content, and collaborating with other university football focused brands.
Audience Engagement:
Actively monitored and responded to direct messages and story replies, regular story posts, and encouraged supporter photo/story shares.
Performance Analysis:
Tracked key performance indicators, conducted monthly reviews, and provided detailed progress reports to optimize strategies.
Results
The strategy significantly improved Kent Falcons online presence and engagement metrics.
90% Increase in Engagement: Achieved a significant rise in likes, comments, and shares.
67% Growth in Followers: Gained a substantial number of new followers, crossing follower landmarks.
Consistent Posting Schedule: Maintained regular posts, improving audience interaction.
Enhanced Brand Awareness: Increased visibility and established a stronger university football presence.
